How To Set Up Your First Web Site
from:Most people who don`t have their own site consider that only a true professional cat set up, design and publish a web site. Think again, with the tools available now almost everyone can make a web site in less than a day. Most of the web hosting companies also provides now the tools needed to make your own site. They even provide a set of templates for free from which to choose. The reason is simple, if you can and will make a web site you`ll need a web hosting service, and this in where they come in Simple.
Building a simple site is quite easy. You choose a template or in other words you choose how your site will look( colors, images, borders). After that you add some content in it. New Images, Articles, stories. Even audio files and videos are considered content in a web site but it is your choice about what type of content your site will have. This is the final step, and your Site is ready.
Since not everyone can design a Web Site most likely you won`t be able to design your own site either. In this case you have two options: Either you buy a design already made, and you can find a lot of good designs on the internet, or you`ll hire someone to make a design for your needs. In this case it will cost you a little more but you`ll have the satisfaction that it is an unique design.
Check out your competition
It is a good idea to take a look on other sites before you start your own. This way you`ll see what kind of colors they use, how everything is placed and most important where. You`ll hate some sites, others you`ll just love. Learn from this when you`ll make your own site so that you`ll be able to learn from their mistakes and not yours.
Another good idea would be to analyze the content of each site you visit. If you like the site and you decide to stay there for another few minutes try to see if that site has anything interesting to tell you. Be very critical and expect that each visitor that will come to your site to be even more critical than you when analyzing your Site. If you have nothing interesting to say don`t expect to see some results. People will come and go as long as you won`t have anything important to tell. If you have, make sure people see that and maybe you`ll make a sale.
